I completely understand the appeal of using something to help you lose weight quickly. I've chased these kinds of fixes for most of my life. When you’ve tried every diet, every “quick fix,” and spent years watching your energy drop and your body resist every effort to change, the idea of something that finally works feels like hope.

Why Quick Fixes Ultimately Fail

For many people, GLP-1s seem like that hope. And they can work…at least for a while. They can quiet constant hunger, make it easier to eat less, and even improve blood sugar control - all good things for someone with diabetes. But here’s the thing I want you to hear with love and compassion: GLP-1s are only a temporary answer; and the muscle loss and GI side effects may not be good for you long term.

Here’s why the GLP-1 isn’t a complete solution;

If you don’t learn how your body actually needs to be fueled, if you don’t build the habits and understanding that support a healthy metabolism then when the medication stops, the old patterns and imbalances often come right back. And with them comes the weight, the fatigue, the frustration… the, “I thought I’d finally fixed this” heartbreak.

The Missing Half of the Equation

GLP-1s work by changing signals in your brain and gut that affect hunger and fullness. But they don’t teach you how to eat well. They don’t show you how to fuel your body for stable blood sugar, energy, or hormone balance. They don’t create habits that stick when the prescription ends.

And that’s where the real work, and real healing, happens. That’s why it’s what I teach inside the 100 Days of 1% framework.

When you focus on 1% improvements tiny, sustainable changes to how you eat, move, rest, and care for yourself, you begin to rebuild your metabolism from the inside out. Here are a few 1% habits that can make a huge difference:

  • Learn your PFC3 balance. Every time you eat, include a mix of protein, fat, and carbs. Even small balanced meals help stabilize blood sugar and protect muscle mass, especially important while on a GLP-1.

  • Stay hydrated and mineralized. Many people experience dehydration or fatigue on these medications. Add electrolytes or mineral-rich foods and drink water consistently through the day.

  • Prioritize sleep and recovery. Your body does its repair work while you rest. Deep, consistent sleep supports hormones and metabolism more than most people realize.

  • Move your body with purpose. Strength training is your secret weapon. When weight loss happens quickly, you risk losing muscle, so add resistance work to protect your metabolism.

  • Rewire your mindset. You’re not “on” or “off” a plan. You’re creating a lifestyle you can live with long after the medication ends. Each day is a chance to get 1% better.

I’m not here to shame anyone for using GLP-1s. But I never want you to give your power away to a prescription. Because when you learn how your body works—when you fuel it with balanced meals, strengthen it with movement, and support it with consistent 1% improvements, you won’t need to rely on something outside yourself to feel healthy, strong, and whole.
